Missions featured in this Newsletter
In the Third Quarter of 2012 The Bateleurs flew fifteen missions in total; thirteen of these were for regular beneficiaries and two were for organisations that are new to us. Our missions included a flight to count Wattled Cranes, five of our anti-rhino poaching patrols, a survey of aquatic infestations in KZN rivers, a leopard tracking flight near Oudtshoorn, a Bonizwe flight for students at the Percy Fitzpatrick Institute, a bird atlassing mission, our regular flight every second year to count elephants in the Tuli Block, another Wild Coast monitoring flight, and a flight to translocate 21 Red-billed Oxpeckers from Limpopo to the Northern Cape. Our two missions for new beneficiaries included the third and final flight for the Tracks of Giants project, and a flight to explore the possible impact of a proposed deep water port on sensitive ecosystems at Techobanine in Mozambique.
